Giving
Why: While Catalyst Engineering is not a non-profit organization, giving is a priority. We believe people have a greater purpose than to acquire the maximum amount of money and "stuff" possible. A big part of that purpose is serving others. If people have a greater purpose then why shouldn't a business?
How: Civil Engineering is a natural mechanism to improve people's lives by providing the following: safe road/travel ways; clean water; waste management through sewer systems, treatment plants and landfills; stormwater treatment and conveyance systems; safe structures including buildings and bridges; convenience of utilities at homes and businesses etc. Since we are a Civil Engineering company, we choose to give back through the avenue of Civil Engineering.
When: In order to establish giving as a priority, Catalyst Engineering chose to start giving right away instead of waiting until there is "enough". Our experience as people is that there is never "enough" because there is always something else to desire. We choose to give along the way.
Where: In the world we believe that the most important service provided by civil engineers that people are lacking is clean water. We have chosen to mainly donate wells through charity: water. So far we have had the pleasure of fully funding wells in Haiti, Cambodia, Cote d'Ivoire, India and Uganda, as well as partially contributing to many more projects.
